Udupi, Oct 6: District-in-charge and state youth affairs minister Pramod Madhwaraj revealed the names of the winners of Lifetime Achievement award, ‘Karnataka Kreeda Ratna 2015’ and Ekalavya award winners at Vartha Bhavan, Brahmagiri here on Thursday, October 6.
In his address to media persons, minister said, “The awards will be given to encourage and promote indigenous and rural sports.”

The awards will be presented on October 7 at J K grounds, Amrit Bhavan Mysuru.
As many as 16 sports persons have been selected for Ekalavya award.
Damini Gowda(sports), Vidya Pille (billiards), Pavan Shetty (body building), Nithin Thimmayya (hockey), Rajaguru S(Kabaddi), Krishna A Naykodi(cycling), Arawind A (Basketball), Arpitha M(athletics), Mohmad Rafhik Holi(gymnastics), Meghana M Sajjanar (Rifal shooting), Shruthi Tathachar Venugopal (lawn tennis), Anup D'costa (volleyball), G M Nishchitha (badminton), Shavad J M(para athletics), Umesh R Khade(para swimming) and Kanchan Munnolkar(weight lifting) are Ekalavya award winners.
The Ekalavya award carries Rs 2 lac cash prize, scroll and an impressive bronze idol of Ekalavya.
The names of Karnataka Kreeda Ratna award winners are: D N Rudraswamy (yoga), Poornima P (throwball), Amogh U Chachadi (Atya patya), Ranjitha M P (ball badminton), Pradeep K C( Kho Kho), Sumitha U M (Kabaddi), Dr Jeevandhar Ballal (Kambala), Anand Irvathur(Kambala), Anand L (wrestling) and Moshappa Vittal Gulabala (Discus throw).
The Karnataka Kreeda Ratna awardees will be honoured with Rs 1 lac cash, scroll and a medal.
Two coaches have been selected for lifetime achievement award. They are John Christopher Normal Kumar (swimming) and Shivanand R (wrestling).
The lifetime achievement award carries Rs 1.50 lac cash prize, scroll and an impressive medal.
