Bengaluru, Oct 7: Three persons from different communities have lodged a police complaint against a person living in Mangaluru for allegedly posting comments against the Holy Quran.
The complaint dated October 7 has been lodged with Deputy Commissioner of Police, South Division in Koramangala by Syed Shahid Mallar, Rakesh B Shetty and Jose Michael Das. The complaint states that a person named Prameeth Rao, who operates a Facebook account with more than 900 followers, has posted offensive comments about the Holy Quran.
The complaint says that Prameeth has posted many comments including the one cited in the complaint dating October 2. ‘Prameeth is propagating hatred against Quran and Muslim community by posting these comments’ reads the complaint.
The complainant belonging to three different religions said that they are going to lodge a complaint from Mangaluru as well where Prameeth lives and works. They say Prameeth studied earlier in Sullia and then in Mangaluru.
The Facebook page belonging to Prameeth also glorifies Nathuram Godse and condemns Mahatma Gandhi. Some of his comments are in local language Tulu. He has also posted many photos claiming to be his, but it is not known if they really belong to him or not.
