The same duo of Lorna and Esther performed together in Canada last year and presented successful shows there.

Lorna, a veteran singer and performer par-excellence, has mesmerised the audience around the globe through her powerful and audience-captivating voice.

Esther, who is star artiste since her childhood, also performed in many countries. She is also a classical dancer and acted Hindi, Telugu, Kannada, Tulu and Konkani movies. ‘Noshibacho Khell’ Konkani movie, in which she played lead role, has created new records in box office and received excellent reviews. Her home production 'Janet Noronha Productions' is set to begin the shooting of new Konkani movie 'Sophia'.

Goenkarancho Sangat to present Lorna Live in 3 Australian cities

‘Goenkarancho Sangat’ the word itself describes a united group of Goans and their supporters living in Australia. The charity work undertaken by ‘Goenkarancho Sangat’ is supported by the local and federal governments by way of various exemptions.

Fr Vincy D'Costa, a Capuchin priest was posted in Sydney. A few families of the Goan origin went to visit him and they became friends with each other. With the guidance of Fr Vincy D'Costa, they formed ‘Goenkarancho Sangat’ which is registered as non profit company with the motto of charity.

On a recent visit to Goa, Sunil Besre the owner of Copperpot Indian Restaurants from New South Wales and his wife Rakhi Besre visited Fr Agnel’s Ashram in Verna. Sr Jennifer Mascarenhas the current administrator for the ‘Konseisanv Balgram’ orphanage run under the Fr Agnel’s Ashram approached them for a donation for the orphanage. ‘Konseisanv Balgram’ has around 620 orphans and under-privileged children in their care.

Rakhi Besre has been a great fan of Lorna Lui Cordeiro, the Nightingale of Goa. She always had a dream of meeting Lorna and after Sunil came up with the plan, they decided to organise Lorna's show in Australia with the profits thereof to be donated to ‘Konseisanv Balgram Ashram’

A small committee in Sydney was formed with Fr Vincy D’Costa, Eslinda Rodrigues, Mathew Quadros, Victor Gracias Flor, Vincente Gracias Flor and Nelson Fernandes.

Gerard Lobo and his team in Melbourne too were totally happy and excited to host the show in Melbourne for the cause. The Melbourne team consists of Gerard Lobo, Fr Eldridge,Brian D'Souza and Filipe Dias. Perth too pitched in to help for a great cause. The biggest help rendered was by Gordon Stacey the president of The Perth Anglo Indian Federation Inc who arranged the Fund Raising License. The Perth team consists of Elvis Adamson, Caesar Pereira, Anne Mascarenhas, Colette Adamson and Clinton Rebello. Most importantly Nigel, Abigail, Azio and Leo from Sydney and family members of all three committees are working towards the shows.

Lorna the Nightingale too is very happy to be in Australia for the good cause accompanied by her original brass band and local musicians too will join them for the great one of its kind concert.

Local musicians playing along will be Malcolm Britto, DJ Eric Gracias Flor and Ian Britto.
The Cultural troupe consists of Lorna with her music director Norman, Seby Nolevrt, manager Edwin and comedians Sally and Ambe. The most beautiful, multi-talented singer, dancer and actress Esther Noronha from Mangaluru will be a guest in attendance. Esther is a new blooming star who has just come up with her Konkani movie ‘Noshibacho Khell’. It would also be a great opportunity for the Mangalurean community living in Australia. The whole idea is to provide a great cultural event for all the Konkani speaking community and thereby raise these funds for a great cause.

It would be a great cultural event for everyone who comes from the western side of India.

The shows would be held on October 30 in Sydney, November 1 in Melbourne and November 5 in Perth.
