Udupi, Oct 21: “Police officials who provide solutions for the problems of people must never think of committing suicide," said Udupi DC T Venkatesh, who also said, "They should investigate cases using new ways through modern technology”.

He spoke after receiving the salute during the police martyrs day programme held in Chandu Maidan, the centre of the armed reserve force.

He further spoke on civilian-police approachability and said "It 's hard to imagine the situation in cities if the police stop working. People were scared to go to the police stations in the past. However, as education improves, there is greater awareness and police system has become people friendly.”

“Police officials must never commit suicide due to a pressure of work. The system gives a different meaning to such incidents." As a solution, he offered, "They can resign and work elsewhere as there are many opportunities.”

District superintendents of police K T Balakrishna, deputy superintendent of police Kumaraswamy, deputy superintendent of police of Karkala, Suman, and others were present.
