Udupi, Oct 22: The ill-fated rider of a motor bike lost his life after an ambulance moved over him. This incident happened at Manur near Kota in the taluk on the night of Friday October 21.
Chintamani alias Chinnatambi (26), a resident of Lingadahalli, Tarikere, lost his life in this accident. He was skilled at repairing the machinery of cashew factories and also worked as an agricultural labourer for harvesting work. He was staying in a rented house at Kundapur.
During late evening on Friday, Chintamani had finished the day's work and was moving to his home at Kundapur by motor bike on national highway 66. When he was moving through Manuru village near Kota, his vehicle collided with a truck carrying paddy harvesting machine. Due to the impact of this collision, he fell on the road and instantly an ambulance following him moved over his body.
Chintamni suffered grave injuries in this accident. He was being taken to a private hospital at Kundapur for treatment when he breathed his last. A case relating to this accident stands filed in Kota station.
