Mangaluru, Oct 22: Former union minister B Janardhana Poojary said that former prime minister and JD(S) chief HD Deve Gowda and his followers have hatched a conspiracy to destabilize Congress party in the state.
Poojary was addressing the press meet at press club here on Saturday October 22.
‘Ibrahim should be sacked’
Poojary came down heavily on CM Ibrahim for his criticism of chief minister Siddaramaiah and praise of Deve Gowda. Ibrahim had made the statement on Friday in Mysuru.
Poojary said that statement of CM Ibrahim clearly indicated that there is an ongoing conspiracy against Congress. “CM Ibrahim is the deputy chairman of state planning board and chief minister Siddaramaiah is the chairman of the board and both of them hold meeting together,” Poojary said.
"If Siddaramaiah has self respect, he should resign from the position of chief minister or else he should remove CM Ibrahim from post of deputy planning board. Congress high command should also dismiss Ibrahim from the Congress party,” Poojary added.
“CM Ibrahim is not originally from the Congress. Several people had come to Congress from Janatha Dal. They have never contributed for strengthening the party. Siddaramaiah is fooled by listening to them. This will affect the Congress party," Poojary opined.
Yettinahole
Commenting on Yettinahole project, Poojary said “State government is heading towards killing of River Netravathi after listening to the former chief ministers of the coastal region. The cost of project which is in crores will increase with time and it is the money of 6 crore people of Karnataka. Government is also making an effort to change the Detailed Project Report (DPR). River Netravathi is lifeline of the region and they are making this land a barren one.”
“Is it possible to give water to Kolar, Bengaluru and other places through this project as claimed? Is there 24TMC water as they say? Have they invited technical expert SG Mayya, Yettinahole activist Vijayakumar Shetty for dialogue? Meetings were only held with people who say yes for the decisions without debate. How they will provide water to the people of Dakshina Kannada?”
On this occasion former MLA Vijay Kumar Shetty, former deputy mayor Purushotham Chitrapur and others were present.
