Capt Ganesh Karnik condemning the assault through a press release said “Education has left its own mark besides a good rapport between teachers and students in undivided Dakshina Kannada district. Teachers who have the responsibility to mould the future of students sometimes warn them as part of discipline. If a student assaults his college principal in the circumstances, what expectations can society have from him? The incident is most unfortunate. The student should be arrested and subjected to strict legal action without bowing to pressure to ensure that such incidents do not occur again.”
Both issued separate statements on Saturday October 22 relating to the incident that took place on Thursday, October 20.
