Mysuru, Oct 23: "There is discontent and dissatisfaction brewing inside Ibrahim perennially. He remains discontented forever. We can never be able to satisfy such people," said Karnataka chief minster Siddaramaiah in the city on Saturday October 22. He was reacting to the open comments passed against by his close associate and deputy chairman of Karnataka State Planning Board, C M Ibrahim here the previous day.
There have been demands from various quarters for the expulsion of Ibrahim from the post he holds and also from the primary membership of the Congress for coming into the open with bitter criticism of the chief minister, thereby causing discomfiture for the party. Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee spokesperson and former legislator, S G Nanjayyanamath, speaking at Bagalkot, recollected that Siddaramaiah had given the post of deputy chairman of state planning board to Ibrahim even after he lost the election. He advised Ibrahim to resign from the party and start passing comments from outside. Nanjayyanamath also urged the chief minister to drive away Ibrahim if he is not agreeable to go out on his own.
State higher education minister, Basavaraj Rayareddy, speaking at Yalaburga in Koppal district, expressed the feeling that Ibrahim is getting more and more hungry for power. He said that the party will not be adversely affected if Ibrahim deserts it. Former union minister, Janardhana Poojary, also called for the immediate removal of Ibrahim from the post he holds. Addressing a press conference at Mangaluru on Saturday, he expressed the opinion that Ibrahim was playing out to a plan hatched by Deve Gowda.
