Woman dies after being stabbed at Gurgaon metro station


Gurgaon, Oct 24 (IANS): A woman died after she was repeatedly stabbed at a metro station here on Monday, police said.

Pinki, 22, was stabbed about eight to 10 times by 25-year-old Jitendra in the corridor of M.G. Road Metro Station around 10 a.m.

"The incident occurred where CISF personnel are normally not positioned," Central Industrial Security Force spokesperson Manjeet Singh told IANS.

"The man was immediately apprehended by the public and handed over to police. The woman was shifted to a hospital where she succumbed to her injuries," he said.

According to Singh, both the victim and the accused lived in Sector-18, Gurgaon.

According to the police, the woman hailed from Shillong and the man from Uttar Pradesh. Pinki was married to a man named Mansingh.
