Emergency like situation in India, says Lalu

Patna, Nov 4 (IANS): RJD chief Lalu Prasad on Friday attacked Prime Minister Narendra Modi, saying there was an Emergency like situation in the country.

"What kind of democracy are you building, Modiji?" the former Bihar Chief Minister asked in a tweet. He said public sentiments cannot be ignored in a democracy.

Lalu Prasad warned that there was an Emergency like situation in the country, constitutional values were in danger and fascism was knocking the doors.

The RJD leader cited the detention of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, his Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia and Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi following the suicide by an ex-serviceman.

Lalu Prasad said that all those speaking against the government were being targeted.

He called the Modi government a headline-grabbing and marketing government.

He said the Modi government violated the Constitution by stopping the Delhi Chief Minister, "who was elected by the people," from meeting the family of the dead soldier "and arrested him".
