58-year-old booked for husband's suicide in Gurgaon


Gurgaon, Nov 5 (IANS): A 58-year-old woman was booked for abetment to suicide after her husband ended his life by consuming a poisonous substance, police said on Saturday.

Geetam Singh, 60, a resident of Pathredi, was a class four employee at the Government Polytechnic in Manesar here on Delhi-Jaipur National Highway 8.

According to the police, Singh consumed poison in the college and was found unconscious near its main gate. 

Students informed the police and Singh was rushed to Rockland Hospital in Manesar.

"The victim died during the treatment and has left a suicide note blaming his wife Usha Rani for his extreme step," police official Suresh Kumar told IANS.

"We are investigating the case further and accused was yet to be arrested," Kumar said.

The police have registered a case under Section 306 (Abetment of suicide) of the Indian Penal Code against Usha Rani, a housewife, on the complaint of a student Mohit alias Monu, a resident of Manesar.
