I will be President for all Americans: Trump

New York, Nov 9 (IANS): Brushing aside fears that his victory will further divide the US, President-elect Donald Trump declared on Wednesday that he will be the leader "for all Americans".

Addressing cheering supporters after he beat Hillary Clinton in one of the most bitterly contested elections, the Manhattan billionaire called for rapprochement between the Republicans and Democrats.

"It is time for us to come together as one united nation," Trump said. "I pledge to every citizen that I will be the President for all Americans."

Trump thanked his supporters across the country, "made up of millions of hard working men and women who love their country and want a better future for themselves and their families".

He said his campaign was a movement made up of people from all religions and races.

"We will begin the urgent task of rebuilding our nation and knowing the American dream.

"The forgotten men will be forgotten no longer," he added to loud cheers and cries of "USA, USA".

America, Trump said, would rebuild its infrastructure, "which will become, by the way, second to none... We will embark upon a project of national growth.

"We have a great economic plan. We will double our growth and have the strongest economy anywhere in the world."

Trump said the US under his leadership "will get along with all other nations willing to get along with us.

"America will no longer settle for anything that is less than the best.

"I want to tell the world community that while we will put American interests on top, we will deal fairly with everyone."

    Just some folks here are enjoying Trumps victory for some of his anti Muslim rhetorics in past...You think he will "Quarantine" Muslims...It was just an election Jumla.. Trump has huge business empire coming up in Muslim countries...He may do some measures to prevent migration...just like British Brexit...But that would affect not only Muslims but also other Indians if you are just happy bcoz he is targeting Muslims be prepared you too are brown....British Brexit was mainly due to east European Polish migrants who began migrating in high numbers and also fear of migrants from war torn zone..But some of our Indian folks supported it..But recent British govt move on preventing migration has its impact even on Indian migrants...Just like that...
    Don't spew hatred ...You too don't like any Muslim leaders bashing against other communities in GCC where your family is earning bread...So far Muslim leaders have never done it...What that is normal in West or east

    What is this? I never Criticized BJP nor Mr. Modi to the extent I always oppose Congress leadership. Sometimes yes, that is because of other Right wing activists’ attitude on minorities. (Especially on Christian missionaries and accusation on conversion & other issues.) I do evaluate what Modi Sarkar is doing for India and how things are moving in right direction at present. Forget about getting Rs. 15 Lacs. Now there could be much more effect or impact on domestic black money. How many lacs crores is still a mystery. Even a fish monger or Goodu da angadi fellow may be having such filthy money and what we can say about educated traders and business houses. Well deserving punishment from out of the blues.

    After all the very low campaign, to expect the wounds to be healed will be viewed with great suspicion. Trump now has to translate his policies to take all sections of the society along. He cannot blow hot during the elections and blow cold in administration.Even the World leaders are shocked at the upset victory of Trump with no congratulatory message forthcoming immediately after Hillary gave up. Healing process should go beyond the boundaries of the US. Whether he will succeed is to be waited and watched.People get the Government they deserve since Trump is their desire in the game of numbers.

    America is a country with written constitution & Laws. and the Law prevails. President has Limited power. Power equally shared by Congress, Senate, Judiciary and President. First you come out from your cave and visit Arab countries and experience the religious freedom, tolerance and live and let live policy.
