Udupi: Rs 3 Crore Diamond 'Kavacha' Offering for Lord Hanuman

An offering of 'Navarathna Vajra Kavacha' (diamond-studded armour) will be made to Lord Mukhyaprana (Hanuman) of Krishna Math, by the Krishnapura Math.
 
The special religious 'offering' ceremony will be conducted on Friday January 11 at 8 pm. This information was provided by Vidyasagarateertha Swamiji of Paryaya Krishnapura Math to reporters at a press meet held here on Wednesday January 9.
 
According to the swamiji the said ornament has been made at a total cost of Rs 3 crore. Further he informed that both the 'kavacha' and 'panipeeth' has been made of 6.7 kg gold.
 
Also along with this will be 5,287 navaratna diamonds (404.91 carat) and 2,664 gems such as ruby, blue sapphire, emerald, yellow sapphire, emerald, yellow sapphire, specially carved and studded into the 'kavacha' and made at Hyderabad, he added.
 
The amount of Rs. 3 crore has been contributed by different devotees of Lord Krishna and Mukhyaprana. On Thursda, January 10 the diamond armour wil be taken in a procession at 5 pm from Jodukatte and it will finally culminate at Krishna Mutt.
 
On Friday morning, the 'kavacha' will be offered to the Mukhyaprana Lord Hanuman by the Paryaya Swamijir in the august presence of other swamijis of the Ashta Maths.
