Mangaluru, Nov 15: Former union minister and senior Congress leader B Janardhan Poojary demanded that prime minister should cancel the decision of demonetisation of currency in the interest of poor, farmers, daily labourers and other weaker section of the society.
Tears for rich
Addressing media persons here at press club on November 15, Poojary said "Union government's demonetisation scheme has resulted in a big scam. Poor, farmers, labourers, students and people of other weaker sections of the society are in queue at banks in order to exchange the notes. Prime ministers shed tears during his speech. Whom did he shed tears for? Was it for capitalists of this country like Adani, Ambani, Tata and Birla or for the poor people? Prime minister needs to answer the people of this nation."
Income Tax Act
"The prime minister shed tears for his industrialist friends. Does not he know that there is income tax act in this country? Section 276 (A) and section 276 (B) clearly state that the government can send people with black money to jail. How many people have they sent to jail? Narendra Modi, being a Prime minister and Arun Jaitley as finance minister, do not have simple knowledge of these acts. But now both of them have bought the country into economic emergency-like situation." Poojary added.
Modi and BJP
“The opposition parties are gearing up and conducting meetings. Does the prime minister think he can run winter session of parliament? With this foolish decision, prime minister is wiping out the BJP. It is not him who has built BJP party. It is the thousands of party workers who have built it. When prime minister held surgical strikes against Pakistan, I appreciated it. But today with this decision of demonetisation, he will finish his party." Poojary said.
“The prime minister should cancel his decision and end the confusion. Even now I stand by my previous statement that the move was good but the way it was implemented was a complete failure." he opined.
Tanveer Sait episode
Speaking on Tanveer Sait’s porngate episode, Poojary said "If Tanveer Sait does not resign, then it is the end of his and chief minister's political carrier."
