Mangaluru, Nov 16: A shop dealing in scrap materials was gutted down on the night of Tuesday, November 15 at Thokkottu near Ullal. Role of miscreants is suspected.
As the fire was spotted at the shop suddenly, people went there and tried their best to extinguish the fire. But before that, the shop was gutted down to ashes. Luckily, the shop owner had sold the items earlier before closing the shop. Yet he has suffered heavy losses, it is believed.
The shop was operated without licence. There was no electricity connection to the shop at all. Hence, fire due to short circuit was not possible. The role of miscreants is suspected, but not confirmed. Fire brigade managed to stop the fire from spreading to other places.
Ullal police who arrived at the site controlled the tensed situation. They have registered a case.
