Mangaluru: Leaders from Ullal hold peace meeting, request not to listen to rumours

Mangaluru, Nov 16: A peace meeting of leaders of Ullal area, police and district administration was held at police commissioner’s’ office in city on Tuesday, November 15.  Minister for food and civil supplies and Mangaluru MLA  UT Khader, police commissioner Chandra Sekhar, deputy commissioner Dr K G Jagadeesh, superintendent of police Bhushan Gulabrao Borase, additional deputy commissioner  Kumar attended the meeting with other people. 

 

It was decided to maintain peace and tranquillity in Ullal area which has been affected with tense situation in the past one week due to attacks on innocents. The participants decided to ask the people not to give scope for any rumours. 

Other leaders present were, Ullal Darga committee president Abdul Rashid, Santosh Kumar Boliyar. Ishwar Ullal, councillor Mohammed Mukkacherry,  Kunhimonu, Ullal CMC president Satish Kumpala and other leaders of Ullal and Konaje. 

The participants also demanded that real culprits who were responsible for the attacks should be apprehended and full cooperation should be given to the police department for ensuring peace in the area. 

Similar peace meeting was also held earlier in Ullal police station. DCP K M Shantharaju moderated the meeting.

A peace march by city police and KSRP in Ullal was also held during the day.
