    I totally agree with Shankar.
In this incident it is the question of stealing and illegally transporting Cattle to other States. Is Kerala running short of Beef?
For Hindus Cow is considered as Holy and they have some reverence which their right and why people are going against others religious sentiments. Those who involve in such illegal activities must refrain from stealing and abide by the law. Lack of understanding leads to height of tension

    Dear Gents,
Is it prohibited to eat buffalo meat in Hinduism?
Till date I see Buffalo's being sacrificed in a very large number in the temples in north east India.
I remember my neighbor telling me, in the past they did sacrifice buffalo's in one of the temples in bolar Managalore(maari gudi or Hanuman temple I'm not sure) which was later stopped.

The above question is not in favor of cattle thief's or illegal transporters. This is just for my knowledge.

    Well wisher,
I have not even heard/read anything anywhere in hindu scriptures which prohibits eating human flesh. but civilized people avoid cannibalism.
Similarly we avoid cow meat because we drink cow's milk... it raises a motherly feeling towards cow, the Gomatha.
Since buffaloes too fall under cattle group, we don't eat buffalo meat.

But no one will stop you or anyone from eating beef. buffalo or cow.

Our protest is against the people of one community who always make a living by stealing cows from our cowsheds. Mostly these illegal funds raised go to terrorist activities.

    Exactly.

One more thing, once you purchased it legally, please transport in a Humane conditions. Not tying its leg and skull tight. Poor them, let them live their last moments in ease. You claim Halaal to be painless or less tortures method of killing. But transporting this way is more painful than a slit in their throat. Is this type of cruelty allowed as per the rule book ?

    Shankar appreciate your prompt response.
With all due respect to the cows being the animals of worship I totally agree. this is faith and I'm not questioning this at all and also strongly agree with protest against the people who always make a living by stealing cows from poor farmers cowshed which is pathetic.
My question is, Is it prohibited to eat buffalo meat in Hinduism?
Appreciate if someone could answer this.
    Thanks

Hinduism is not based on some books written by humans and accredited to God.
Its a way of living where civic and just ways of living have been adopted by people. And so Hinduism is not bound by rules but by civilized thoughts.

There is no restriction for eating cow meat or buffalo meat.
(civilized ones do not eat :))
