Bantwal, Nov 17: A team of forest mobile squad police took into custody a person who was trying to find a customer for purchasing the banned black buck pelt that he was possessing. The arrested man has been identified as Sharanappa Bajantri (34), son of Yamanurappa, resident of Hirevenkalakunte in Yalaburga taluk, Koppal district.
After they were tipped about effort being made by a person to sell black buck pelt near the government bus stand at Vittal, a team led by forest mobile squad sub-inspector, Babu Gowda, rushed to the spot. During the raid, the team saw a person sitting in the bus stand with a plastic bag in hand. On questioning the man, they found that the bag he held contained black buck pelt.
Sharanappa reportedly confessed that he was here to strike a deal for the pelt he was having.
