Mangaluru, Nov 19: A Bajrang Dal activist, whom the police had taken into custody for some investigations, has gone missing.
Tulasidas (30) from Kolambe is the person missing. His family members have said that they will move habeas corpus writ in Bantwal court.
Tulasidas is an active member in Ullal Bajrang Dal and holds responsible post. He has many cases registered against him including the Mudipu College tour cancellation episode and several instances of stopping illegal cattle trafficking with force. Because of the past cases, police have been targeting him for disruption of peace in the area and would take him into custody.
This time too police took him into custody relating to the assaults on Sameer and Nawaz recently at Manjanady. This assault is believed to have been carried out in retaliation for the earlier assault on RSS activist Rammohan. After a day of interrogations, Tulasidas was released from police custody as the police reportedly learnt that he did not have any role in the Manjanady assault.
But after a day, the police came to the house of Tulasidas late night and took him again into custody. After that Tulasidas’ mobile phone has been switched off and he has neither returned home nor seen anywhere.
Family members of Tulasidas have enquired with CCB police who had taken him into custody. They have approached other police officials also. But Tulasidas has not been found yet. It is suspected that Tulasidas went missing from police custody.
Tulasidas’ family has registered a complaint at Konaje police station. Now as there has been no clue about Tulasidas, they have decided to move the habeas corpus writ in court.
