Mangaluru, Nov 19: Here's some good news for the people of the city who are facing the heat of demonetisation. The executive director of Canara Bank Harideesh Kumar B on Saturday November 19 launched the mobile ATM vehicle on the eve of the Bank's Founders Day.
Addressing the gathering, Kumar said, "We have launched a newly designed mobile ATM with CDMA technology. This mobile van will be deployed in various public places like State Bank circle, AB Shetty circle, PVS circle, Jyothi circle, Bunts Hostel circle, Kodialbail circle, Mangaluru City Corporation circle, KSRTC bus stand, Urwa stores, Mahaveer circle etc, depending upon the demand and on rotation basis. Most of the people would be happy to withdraw money in a short span of time, as they need not have to wait in longer queues at the conventional ATMs.
"The public need not panic as the cash requirements across the counter at the branches and that of ATM transactions are being adequately met by the banks," the director added.
General manager and head of Mangaluru circle K Virupaksha said, "The mobile ATMs are configured to dispense the new Rs 2,000 notes, and our engineers are working on the existing kiosks. When sufficient cash arrives, the ATMs would be configured immediately by our engineers to dispense Rs 500 notes in addition to the existing provision for dispensing Rs 100 notes."
