Mangaluru, Nov 21: Immoral rowdyism, or moral policing, raised its ugly head again in the district, as five persons allegedly assaulted a boy and a girl belonging to different communities while they were travelling by bus in Ullal near here on Monday November 21.

It is learnt that two college students, a boy and a girl, had been to Someshwar beach on Monday. On their way back to their college by bus, five persons who noticed them barged inside, pulled them out and allegedly assaulted them.
Among the five assaulters, two have been taken into custody, sources said. They have been identified as Tauseef and Nizamuddin. Three other accused, including a person named Waqar, managed to escape.
The incident took place at Paris junction in Ullal.
The girl is said to be from Mangaluru while the boy is reportedly a native of Ranchi in Jharkhand. They were taken to Ullal police station for inquiries.
An FIR is yet to be registered.
