Mangaluru, Nov 22: The demonetisation measure by the central government has not spared BJP cabinet ministers. Union minister D V Sadananda Gowda himself went to through the sad incident in city.

Sadananda Gowda's brother passed away on Tuesday, November 22 at KMC hospital here. The hospital management refused to accept old currency notes from the minister when he wanted to settle the bills. The union minister was anguished with the behaviour of hospital staff.
Bhaskar Gowda, brother of former chief minister and present union minister D V Sadananda Gowda, was admitted to KMC hospital ten days ago due to jaundice. He breathed his last today without responding to treatment.
Minister DV Sadananda Gowda went to the hospital to receive the dead body of his brother but the hospital staff refused to take old currency notes for making payment for hospital bills.
Bringing to the notice of hospital staff, the guidelines by the union government to receive old currency notes in the hospitals was of no use. The hospital also refused to accept cheque. The minister anguished with it, asked the hospital staff to give in writing that they are not accepting old currency notes. The staff ultimately accepted the cheque for the payment. The minister has said that he will order for suitable action against the hospital. The incident has also angered BJP leaders.
Most of the hospitals in Mangaluru have stopped accepting old currency notes. Several protests have been held in this connection.
