Mangaluru, Nov 23:"White Doves, an NGO which runs homes for the destitute and is also involved in various other social works like feeding the hungry on a daily basis, building houses for the poor, educating poor students and also taking care of medical expenses of poor patients, will be presenting its annual Christmas mobile show '2016 Year Old Fact in a Mobile Act' on November 25, 26 and 27," announced the trustee of White Doves Vitus Rasquinha.
Addressing a press meet here on Wednesday November 23, he said, "Till date White Doves has presented over 300 shows in and around Mangaluru. This year the mobile show will have a 95-foot stage built on trailer trucks, with 150 artistes taking part in it. The show will be of one and half hour duration.”
“The shows will be performed at Udupi, Shirva and Mangaluru. The troupe will perform at Christian PU college grounds, Udupi at 6.00 pm on November 25. It will perform at Our Lady of Health Church, Shirva at 6.00 pm on November 26. The last two shows will be held in Mangaluru on November 27 at Nehru Maidan at 5.30 pm and at Agnes Special School grounds at 8 pm. The entry for all the shows is free." Vitus explained.
Vitus further said, "White Doves is coming up with a 200-bed psychiatric destitute nursing home at Maroli. For the past 18 years the organization has been taking care of over 496 destitute and mentally ill inmates and presently there are 135 inmates in two homes run by white doves. These inmates, irrespective of caste, creed or religion, are picked up from the streets and housed in the two homes here in the city."
Founder president of White Doves, Corrine Rasquinha and manager, Jerald Fernandes were present at the press meet.
