Mangaluru: Five held for ganja consumption

Mangaluru, Nov 24: Policemen of Kavoor station, on Wednesday November 23, arrested five persons on the allegation of consuming banned drug, ganja, within the limits of their station.

Suresh (23) from Urundadigudde, Prakash D'Souza (23) from Panjimogaru Viveknagar, Abin alias Bipin (23), a Kerala-based student of a Panjimogaru college, another student, Muhammed Dilshad (23), and Johnson Lobo (23) from Viveknagar were arrested by the police.

They have been booked under Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act by Kavoor police and produced in court.

Out of the arrested men, Suresh already faces case of gang rape, theft and ganja trafficking, while Prakash D'Souza was booked for possessing 1.5 kg ganja by Konaje police earlier, the policemen said.

The operation was led by Kavoor police inspector, Nataraj.
