Mangaluru, Nov 25: A group assaulted a driver and conductor of a bus alleging that they eve teased a girl who travelled in the bus. Police later arrested five persons who assaulted the driver and conductor. The incident took place on Thursday, November 24.
Bus driver Ashraf and conductor Himad, who sustained injuries, have been admitted to a private hospital.
Deekshith, Mahesh, Sandesh, Raveesh and one more person have been arrested by the Ullal police.
As per details of the case, the bus named ‘Shree Kateel’ operates service between Mangaluru and Talapady. The group which believed that a girl, who travelled in the bus, was teased by Ashraf and Himad stopped the bus near Talapady bus stop and assaulted them.
A day before, another unidentified group had assaulted a bus driver named Varun in a bus travelling from Mangaluru and Kinya. No case was registered relating to the incident.
A case stands registered at Ullal police station and the arrested five persons have been charged with attempt to murder.
