Udupi, Nov 26: District BJP president Mattar Ratnakar Hegde at a press meet on Saturday November 26 said, "Congress and other regional parties have called for a ‘Jan Aakrosh divas’ on Monday November 28 to protest against the demonetization decision of the union government. Majority of the population were glad with Modi’s stand and have welcomed the economic move.

Businessmen and students have also supported this stand taken by the central government. Prime minister Modi introduced this new system to bring equality among the people and to curb quota notes.

Mattar agreed that the common man had suffered for a few days by waiting in queues for exchange of currency notes. When ink mark on the finger got introduced, the number of people reduced.

Nearly 40% of black money came out after the demonetization. So this proves the existence of black money movement in the hands of a few people.

Udupi district in-charge minister, Pramod Madhwaraj, Bihar chief minister, Nitish Kumar and congress leader Muniyappa also praised Modi’s stand over banning notes. But, it had been falsified at the parliament meeting and a big crowd had been created intentionally.

Mattar said, "Modi took this action by keeping in mind the future."

District BJP president Mattar urging the public said, "No one should support the strike on Monday. This is being carried out for political reasons and that is why the opposition party has cancelled the assembly meeting on Monday. The ‘Bharath bandh’ is led by the state government. Schools and colleges and buses will function as usual. Everything will run as normal." He urged for public support through this press conference.

Mattar Ratnakar Hegde on the ban of Kambala said, "Everyone must follow the verdict of the High Court. The preparation for the traditional Kambala sport began this month. Hence rural people are a bit disappointed about the High Court's decision.

He also questioned why horse race had not been banned by the court if Kambala race has. The traditional Kambala sport has a rich background in the culture of Tulunadu. He hopes the Supreme Court will give a favourable verdict in the days to come."
