Bangalore: Annual Feast of Infant Jesus Celebrated with Gusto

Bangalore, Jan 15: 37th Annual feast of Infant Jesus shrine, located at Vivek Nagar, in the metro was held on Monday, January 14.
The feast was flagged off by Fr Bernard Moras, Archbishop of Bangalore, on Friday, January 4 evening by hoisting the flag. The masses in various languages, cultural events and community weddings were held from Saturday, January 5 to Sunday, January 13 at the church.
Fr Bernard Moras, Archbishop of Bangalore, concelebrated the festive Eucharistic Mass along with several priests, at 11.15 a m on Monday, January 14. Holy masses in Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam and Telugu were held before the High Mass.
Archbishop, in his homily to the large number of faithful narrated the miraculous healing of an autistic Bangladeshi boy who began talking when his parents fervently prayed at their visit to Infant Jesus shrine in the metro. Moreover, he sited several instances of miracles which have taken place in the life of many who continued to pray for many years, trusting on Infant Jesus.
Moreover, he called on the faithful to accept that we are nothing before the Almighty. God works wonders to those who trust in Him and acknowledge His mighty power and accept His infinite love with gratitude. He would be close to those who are eager to do His will and keep His commandment of love. “If you are my disciples you will do what I say?” (Jn 14 : 23). Hence, it’s for everyone to try and strive to live in unity and brotherhood praising, adoring and worshipping God.
Archbishop, announced Infant Jesus Shrine, Bangalore as the most prominent shrine in the entire metro, during the stage programme held on Monday, January 14 evening. He also specially blessed the chariot at the Shrine.
PK Tawakkal, IAS officer and advisor of Governor and his wife were the chief guests present on the dais. Bishop honoured PK Tawakkal by draping the shawl. The chief guests offered motion to the chariot.
Fr Balaraj R, priest of Shrine welcomed the gathering. Fr Devdas compered the programme. Fr Patrick, assistant priest proposed vote of thanks. The procession of chariot in the neighbourhood of Shrine was followed by thousands of faithful. Open air adoration of Holy Eucharist and solemn blessing by Archbishop brought bliss to thousands of faithful gathered at the venue.
