Mangalore: Waterloo Varsity VC pays Goodwill Visit to SAC

The ongoing talks on twinning programme between St Aloysius college and University of Waterloo (UW) received the much-needed impetus with Dr David Johnston, president and vice-chancellor of University of Waterloo paying a goodwill visit to St Aloysius college here recently. 
 
Once at the campus, he was felicitated by St Aloysius college principal Fr Swebert D'Silva. Later Dr David held discussions on the twinning programmes with St Aloysius college and UW alumnus.

UW is one of the world's famous universities for actuarial science programme and computer science and engineering with 30,000 students being enrolled till date. In the course of his discussion he informed that UW is contemplating having twinning for such a programme with AIBA, St Aloysius College.
 
Moreover he had fruitful discussions with Fr Denzil Lobo, director of AIBA and Fr Leo D'Souza, director of Laboratory of Applied Sciences (LAS) of St Aloysius College. During these discussions, Johnson highlighted their recent achievements including the 'Black Berry'. 
 
After the discussion he paid a visit to the boys’ home of St Aloysius College and the delinquent home for young boys managed by St Aloysius College at Kotekar. 
 
On the occasion Victor Pais, an alumnus of St Aloysius College and also an industrialist from New Jersey, USA was present for discussions.
