Mangalore: Tulu Folk Contest Planned in City on Feb 8

Tulu culture and its vast ancient folklore is sure to receive a big boost in the days to come. A Tulu folk contest for students and general public is being organized and planned by the Karnataka Tulu Sahitya Academy (KTSA) in February in the city, with an objective to enrich Tulu language, art, folk and culture.  

According to the rules of the contest, in the Tulu folk contest 10 to 25 participants will be allowed to stage a folk dance, folk song and Tulu folk 'Rupaka' within the allotted 20 minutes span.
 
The three best teams will win prizes and certificates in each category. Interested students are requested to send in their applications to the Academy via the head of their institutions. However, in case of the general public, those keen on participating in the contest may submit their applications directly to the Academy.
 
The applications to this contest should reach the registrar of Karnataka Tulu Sahitya Academy (KTSA) located at Lalbagh before January 31. The decision of the jury comprising of experts will be final.
