Mangaluru, Dec 3: In a proud moment for Mangaluru and indeed the entire coastal region, Mulky lass Srinidhi Shetty has been crowned 'Miss Supranational'. The grand finale of the international beauty pageant was held in the Krynica Zdrój city of Poland on Friday December 2.
Srinidhi Shetty is only the second Indian to win this crown, with Asha Bhat, another Mangalurean, having won in 2014.
Srinidhi was crowned by last year's Miss Supranational winner Stephania Stegman of Paraguay.
Valeria Vespoli from Venezuela was adjudged the first runner-up, Jaleesa Pigot from Suriname won the second runner-up title, Ornella Mariam Jayasiri Gunesekere from Sri Lanka bagged the third runner-up title and Korinna Kocsis from Hungary finished fourth.
Residing in Mumbai, the 24-year-old Srinidhi is the daughter of Ramesh and Kushala Shetty from Mulky. She studied at Narayana Guru school, Mulky, and pursued PU education at St Aloysius PU College. She then went on to complete her engineering from Bhagvan Mahaveer Jain College, Bengaluru. Currently, she works at Accenture in Mumbai.
The ravishing Srinidhi has also won the Miss Karnataka and Miss South India crowns in the past, and has walked the ramp in several fashion shows. Her hobbies include dancing, trekking and swimming. She has two elder sisters.
