New Delhi, Dec 6 (IANS): The Rajya Sabha was adjourned for the day on Tuesday after paying tribute to the late Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J. Jayalalithaa, who died in Chennai on Monday night.
As the house assembled for the day, Chairman Mohmmad Hamid Ansari read out the obituary reference for the iconic leader.
The house observed two minutes' silence before being adjourned for the day.
Jayalalithaa, who was admitted in a hospital in Chennai for over two months, died at 11.30 p.m. on Monday after suffering a cardiac arrest on Sunday evening.
