Mangaluru, Dec 13: A Hore Kanike procession was held from Kulshekar Holy Cross Church to the newly constructed Shaktinagar Mother of God Church on December 12. The procession held as part of the inauguration programme was set in motion by Fr Victor Machado.

Several people across religions participated in the procession. Fr Walter D'Souza, parish priest of the new church received the Hore Kanike. Fr Victor Machado who presided over the hall programme held later, congratulated the parish priest and the parishioners.

Mangaluru MLA J R Lobo expressed his feelings as guest at the programme. Fr Jaya Prakash D'Souza, Padav ward corporator Aqil Alva and vice president of parish pastoral council, Denis Machado were present on the dais.

Fr Walter D'Souza welcomed everyone. Vincent D'Souza proposed the Vote of thanks. Asha Monteiro and William Colaco compered the programme. Several entertainment and cultural programmes were held after the hall programme. Jaggery, drinking water, tender coconuts and meals were served for the entire gathering at the end of the programme.
