Sullia, Dec 14: A youth doused his body with kerosene and torched himself in the town on the night of Monday December 12.

The victim was Vinod (25) from Kandadka here. It is gathered that he was going through a patch of depression, and had pierced his throat two days back with a knife in an attempt to end his life.

He was treated at a hospital in the town for the said injuries and brought home. On Monday, when he was inside the bathroom of his residence, he poured kerosene on himself and ignited fire. He was rushed to hospital with severe burn injuries, but could not be saved.
