Bengaluru, Dec 15: It is gathered that state chief minister (CM), Siddaramaiah, turned furious at excise minister, H Y Meti, when the latter visited his office to resign from the ministry after the CD showing him in bad light was made public by a television channel, on Wednesday December 14. Reports say that in his short outburst, the CM expressed deep anguish at the way the minister conducted himself. Meti, in a humble tone, said that he had not committed any mistake and asked the CM to order an investigation into the episode, after which Siddaramaiah permitted him to leave.
Meti's residence is located by the side of the home office of the CM. At around 12 noon on Wednesday, Meti reached the CM's home office, 'Krishna' through its back door and proceeded to the first floor where the CM was presiding over a meeting of officials. The CM, who was busy holding meeting with the president of text book revision committee, asked Meti to meet him after the meeting. Therefore, Meti waited for the meeting to finish and entered the office of CM at around 12.30 pm.
As soon as the minister came in, the CM sent the officials present there outside his office and poured out his anguish and resentment at the entire episode and asked Meti to leave. Meti, who waited for sometime outside, returned to his home from the back gate.
The body language of the CM gave clear indication that the sex CD episode had given rise to lot of frustration in him. On Wednesday, he was seen to be immersed in thoughts during the meetings he attended thereafter, both at his home office, and official residence, 'Kaveri'. He was not his usual self as evidenced by the fact that he did not pay full attention to the proceedings of two important meetings he attended. His usual aggression was missing and the practice of taking officials to task was absent.
When the CM came out of his home office, media representatives approached him for his reaction to Meti episode, but the CM went away in his car, just signalling with his hands that he had nothing to say. When the media persons approached him again at 'Kaveri', he gave his response before entering in. At this time, showed his anger at a person who was seen waiting for him there by shouting at him.
