Mangaluru, Dec 15: The state high court (HC) has served notice to the city police over an application moved before it, praying to order main accused in RTI activist, Vinayak Baliga murder case, Naresh Shenoy, to undergo narco analysis test.
The single judge bench of the HC presided over by Justice Anand Byrareddy, which heard an application in this connection filed by Ramachandra Baliga, father of Vinayak Baliga, ordered issuance of notice to Naresh Shenoy too, seeking objections if any from him.
Advocate for the petitioner submitted that truth will not come out in the case unless Shenoy is subjected to narco analysis test. He therefore prayed the court to issue directions to the city police to make Shenoy to face this test. Similar prayer earlier made before the sessions court was dismissed on September 22. The advocate said that this order of the subordinate court is being questioned in the HC.
51-year-old RTI activist, Vinayak Baliga, was murdered near his home in Kodialbail in the city on March 21 this year. While some early arrests were made, city-based entrepreneur and main accused, Naresh Shenoy, had remained elusive for a few months. He had surrendered before the police after the high court dismissed his application for anticipatory bail in the case.
