Udupi, Dec 15: 'Amrit Tujya Hatim…' book, the new edition of 'Amrit Tujya Payantalla…' on herbal medicine containing 150 rare species of herbal plants was released recently at the Bethany Provincialate, Vamanjoor. The book is authored by Sr Agnesia Frank, BS and released on the occasion of Province Day, in memory of their patron saint, Mother Mary.

Sr Cicilia Mendonca BS (provincial superior, Mangaluru province) released the book, in the presence of Sr Lilitta BS, (general councilor of Bethany congregation), Sr Roshell BS (vice provincial) and provincial councilors namely; Sr Mariola D’Souza BS, Sr Anna Maria BS, Sr Shubha BS. and Sr Lizzie BS (province procurator).

Sr Dr Wilma Aranha briefly introduced Sr Agnes Frank BS to the congregation present on the auspicious day and highlighted her various achievements throughout her career as a social activist and as a trained teacher. She also narrated how close she is with the nature and how she tries her best to preserve ecology in all its form. She has also trained several social workers and multiplied the leadership to enable poor people to join the mainstream, importance of rare species of herbs to colleges, institutions and SHG. Sr Agnesia has also have conducted various seminars on subjects such as women empowerment, integrated community health, sacredness of sex education and importance of holistic human growth.

Sr Agnes Frank was honoured on the auspicious occasion by Sr Lilitta BS, with a shawl followed by a garland, fruit basket and a citation by Sr Cicilia Mendonca BS and other guests on the dais.

Sr Agnes Frank expressed her feelings upon receipt of her honour and thanked each and everyone who was instrumental in bringing out this wonder book on herbal medicine (ASM) which she said every household should have in their homes. She desires this book reaches every nook and corner of the village especially those who cannot get access nor afford allopathic medicine. This low cost medicine might help the poor prevent and enrich their health.
