Bantwal, Dec 15: "I am deeply hurt by the episode involving excise minister, H Y Meti. State chief minister, Siddaramaiah, too has expressed pain at the development. But this is an issue involving personal life of Meti. It has nothing to do with the government," opined working president of Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC), Dinesh Gundu Rao.
Rao was here for taking part in a party programme organized at Kallige in the taluk. He spoke to media persons at the residence of district in-charge minister, B Ramanath Rai.
"In connection with the sleaze CD, resignation of the minister has been obtained. The episode has no connection with the government or administration," he stressed.
Rao said that his party has been making preparations from now on for the coming election. "We have been organizing conventions at various places with the aim of giving publicity to achievements of the Congress. Although the state government has introduced a number of people-friendly schemes, they have not got the publicity they deserve," he felt.
On this occasion, Rao dismissed as baseless allegations being levelled against the government by BJP. He felt that BJP is unable to appreciate the development initiatives undertaken by the Congress party.
