Udupi: Fall from atop truck proves fatal for driver

Udupi, Dec 15: The driver of a truck accidentally slipped and fell down when loading his truck near a fish mill at Udyavara near here on Wednesday December 14. The victim has been identified as Srinivasulu (46) from Nellore in Andhra Pradesh.

After loading the truck with materials, the driver was trying to tighten a rope around the load to ensure its safety when the rope accidentally slipped out of his hand and he lost his balance. He fell down head first as a result of which his head bore the brunt of the damage.

The driver was immediately taken to a hospital at Udupi. The doctors there examined him and found that he had already breathed his last. Thereafter, a complaint of unnatural death was filed in Kaup police station.
