Mangalorean Couple Meet with a Tragic Road Accident in Saudi Arabia

Madeena - Jan 25: A couple hailing from Bajpe, Mangalore met with a fatal road accident which occurred yesterday morning near Anak area, which is around 100 k.m from Madeena in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Zakir Hussain, aged about 38 and his wife Farzana were the victims of this ghastly accident. Riyaz, who was driving the ill-fated car and a friend of the deceased, survived having sustained multiple injuries on his head and other parts of the body and has been admitted and is under intensive care at the Madeena Hospital.
The victims were travelling towards Holy Makkah for performing Umrah, one of the sacred and highly valued rituals in Islam, passing through Madeena city, another holy place of Muslims in their vehicle.
They started their pilgrimage at night from Riyadh, the capital city of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia from which the accident spot is around 700 km.
It is reported from a reliable source that the driver lost his control over the car while driving when the car overturned and the couple were thrown out and died an instant death. It is also reported that it was slightly raining and the road was slippery,
The dead bodies have been shifted to mortuary of the Madeena Hospital awaiting formalities for their burial.
Family sources have revealed that the funeral rites will be conducted in Madeena cemetery once the formalities are over probably by today.
Zakir Hussain is the eldest son of late Abubakker and Khathija couple from Bajpe. He had been in the Kingdom since 16 years, working in a General Services Establishment and was popular within the Mangalore community. He married to Farzana, the daughter of Mr. Guttu Muhammad from Jokatte, a social worker and political figure in the region, some five years back. She came to the Kingdom to join her husband some two months back. Unfortunatley, the destiny separated them untimely from being together for a long time.
Mustaq Bajpe, Ismail Bantwal and Althaf Bajpe are taking initiative in completing all the formalities and other procedures. Mustaque Bajpe and Ismail Bantwal have been to Madeena soon after they received message of the mishap.
