Mangaluru: Digital India- Charmuri vendor in Car Street goes cashless

Daijiworld Media Network – Mangaluru (RJP)

Mangaluru, Dec 23: A Charmuri vendor in Car Street in city has taken early steps in the Digital India campaign. When other vendors are still learning about cashless business, this man has already started using the App at his shop.

Gokuldas Prabhu has been running Charmuri business for the past 15 years near famous Venkataramana temple at Car Street here. He never thought he would ever do cashless business. Some days back he attended a training camp organised by Yuva Brigade and Sevanjali Trust. After that some youth came to his place this week and asked him to go cashless. Once he agreed, they trained him. Within a day Prabhu installed eMpower App from Canara bank.

On Thursday, Prabhu started doing cashless business. Anyone who eats at his shop can transfer amount to his bank account instead of paying cash.

Prabhu did good cashless business on day one. He expects to do well. He happily says that his main intention is to contribute positively to the idea of Digital India conceptualised by the present central government led by Narendra Modi.

It is good that some businesses have adopted electronic payment methods. Hundreds of millions of Indians do not have bank accounts. They have to rely on cash and have been unnecessarily inconvenienced.

ideological supporters of modi are trying to protect him from the demonitisation impact. we already know there are number of complaints about surcharge deduction on every digital payement. Banks and outsorcing agencies still have no idea of where the deducted surcharges gone as it was told by SBI manager. Actually modi trying to loot the public legally.

What is there to laugh? Some other developed cities or countries which are more developed might be laughing at Pune too! There is a first time for everything & everyone. Everything starts with a first step. Look positively.

Even I lived in Pune for many years before shifting to Mangalore.

Mangalore has a all weather port and 1000s of foreign tourists are visiting through luxurious cruise liners - do you have this in your Pune ?

We have a beautiful Arabian sea and equally beautiful beaches - do you have it in Pune ?

Daijiworld has published only about a vendor this time and already you must have seen news about rickshaws equipped with PayTM.Dont be silly to criticize Mangalore.

Dont compare Pune with Mangalore. Pune cannot become Mangalore.

Poor Charmuri vendor don't know Modi's secrete behind it. First day he did good cashless business and money was transferred to his account. The day poor fellow will come he will realize when he get IT notice by calculating First day's good business X 30 X 12.

So, Ivan, do you want a businessperson to evade taxes and generate more black money? Do you want only 1.5% of the Indians (salaried class) to keep paying taxes?

Why don't you go to court when you have details?
You can tell nonsense all the time, when it comes to provide proof you will run away giving excuse.

Honest businessmen need not worry about I-T notices. They can sleep well and invest their after tax money freely in other ventures. In a longer run, people who pay their due taxes will be much better off financially than the tax evaders. Tax cheaters think they are smart. They live a sub standard life with constant fear. They are afraid of building new houses, buying new cars and taking trips abroad. Taxmen rule their lives.
