Mangaluru, Dec 29: "The process of issuing ad hoc above poverty line (APL) ration cards online by linking it to Adhar card will begin soon. Online registration can happen in any area where internet facility is available. Families will receive permanent APL ration cards within 15 days thereafter," explained state food and civil supplies minister, U T Khader.
He was speaking after inaugurating a stall set up by state information department at Karavali Utsav ground for holding exhibition and spreading information about various ambitious schemes of the state government on Wednesday December 28.
"The task of issuing below poverty line ration cards will begin in urban areas soon. Discussions are in progress about distributing these cards in rural belts. The state government led by Siddaramaiah, which has succeeded in giving a people friendly administration during the last three years, has already met 65 percent of its promises," he claimed.
Khader pointed out that the Siddaramaiah-led state government has been distributing title deeds to people who have built houses in government land through 94c and 94cc schemes. He added that the revenue minister has asked the officials to personally visit houses of families who have not filed applications for title deeds, and obtain their applications. He added that in the next assembly session, the practicability of issuing title deeds to families who have been living in slums and private land by paying rent since the last over 15 years will be considered.
He termed the demonetisation scheme of the central government as total failure because of faulty implementation. "People have now realized that they were wrong in initially praising Modi's initiatives. The Prime Minister should convene meeting of state chief minister to solve problems faced by them," he demanded.
City corporator, Latif Kandak was present, Information officer, Khader Shah, welcomed.
