Kundapur, Jan 10: The private vehicle in which Kodagu district superintendent of police (SP), Rajendra Prasad, was travelling, got involved with a serial road accident at Jaladi near Tallur near here on national highway 66 on Monday January 9. While the driver of the SP's car sustained some injuries, the SP escaped with minor nicks and cuts, it is learnt.
Prasad, who in the past had worked as SP of Udupi district, was travelling towards Bhatkal from the direction of Mangaluru in his XUV vehicle. As per information, the driver of his vehicle was over speeding.
As per reports, the SP was moving to Murudeshwar. When the driver of his vehicle was trying to overtake a 'Toofan' vehicle moving ahead, his vehicle swerved to the left and brushed against a 'Toofan' vehicle and then hit a private bus coming from opposite direction, it is gathered.
The injured driver was treated in a private hospital.
