Mangaluru, Jan 10: Two persons, Simon Cyril Pinto (51) from Neermarga here and Ronald Noronha (57) from Pacchanadi, who had come to their native places on the occasion of Christmas and New Year, lost their lives in separate accidents.

Cyril, employed in a hotel management concern in Italy, had come home to celebrate Christmas. On Saturday, workers had come to his home for painting work. He too was involved with assistance in this work. Cyril, who was standing on an iron ladder, received severe electric shocks after the ladder came in contact with high tension cables. Two workers fell down due to the shock and suffered injuries. Cyril, who was in critical condition, was rushed to a private hospital but he could not be saved. He has left behind wife and two children. A case about this incident was filed in rural police station.
Ronald Noronha, who was working at Muscat, had come home for Christmas. At around 5.30 am on Monday, he was walking as usual by the side of the road when an Innova car that was moving towards Kavoor from the city hit him. Noronha was seriously injured. He was taken to hospital but he too succumbed to injuries later.
Ronald Noronha is survived by wife and two daughters. A case about this death was filed in Suratkal traffic police station.
