Bengaluru, Jan 11: The differences that have cropped up within the BJP on the issue of Sangolli Rayanna Brigade set up under the leadership of K S Eshwarappa turned for worse on TuesdayJanuary 10 after former city mayor, D Venkatesh Murthy, who happens to be the general secretary of the Brigade, was suspended from the party. This, party sources believe, is an indirect warning to senior leader and former deputy chief minister, K S Eshwarappa, to desist from associating himself with the Brigade.
The suspension order was signed by president of city corporation unit of BJP, P N Sadashiva.
In the meanwhile, speaking at Kalaburagi, Eshwarappa clarified that making Yeddyurappa chief minister is not the goal of Rayanna Brigade. "We are no more driven by this aim. The Brigade has dropped it," he stressed.
Eshwarappa agreed that there are internal differences within the BJP and that it is natural for every political party to have some sort of differences within. He hastened to add that differences of opinion that had cropped up in the party over the formation of the Brigade have been discussed in party forums and with national president of the party, Amit Shah, and that all of them have been sorted out.
