Puttur, Feb 6: An incident of domestic cylinder filled with Water instead of LPG came to light recently at Koila village in Uppinangady.
Startling but true, one Mr Narayana Naik, a resident of Yenithadka of Koyila bought a HP domestic gas cylinder from Mukambika Gas Agency through Uppinangady C A Bank.
He was taken by surprise to discover that the cylinder was filled with water.
He brought the matter to the notice of the Puttur Tahshildar and also lodged a complain with him.
Mr Naik is a HP gas customer and his card number is 618750 and on January 11, he bought a cylinder from CA Bank (Cylinder no 109932). The cylinder which used to last for 45 days, suddenly went empty within 25 days.
Suspicious of the matter, Mr Naik inspected the cylinder and found that the cylinder contained 5 litres of water.
"When the cylinder stopped working within 25 days, we thought there must be some problem with the regulator or the pipe and we changed both of it. Even then the gas did not work. When we lifted and shook the cylinder we sensed there was water inside. We later removed water from the cylinder from the point where the regulator is fitted," said wife of Mr Naik, Neetha Narayan Naik.
