Mangaluru: High-tech prostitution in city - Two pimps arrested

Mangaluru, Jan 31: CCB police on Monday January 30 arrested two persons who acted as pimps in a high-tech prostitution racket that operated in the city.

Police also seized items worth Rs 1,64,500 from the arrested persons.

The accused ran the high-tech prostitution business from a lodge on K S Rao Road in city. They lured customers through a website to come to the lodge and offered them prostitutes in exchange for money. CCB inspector Sunil Y Nayak received credible information about the racket. He went with PSI Shyam Sunder and personnel to old bus stand in city where the accused were found and arrested them.

Two mobile phones, Rs 12,500 cash and an auto rickshaw were seized from the culprits.

The arrested have been handed over to Bunder police station.

    Cash seized was only Rs 12,500.

    Possibly all payments are made using the digital systems, as advocated by our beloved PM and his advisors.

    As the cash amounts are small, the punishment might also be light.

    Demonetisation and digital payments have their benefits.

    BTW, similar businesses using just cash ("low-tech") must have closed down.

    This arrest is nothing but haftha vasooli. There are plenty of such places in mangalore. Every streets in bangalore has b2b massage parlours, xxx parlours. Legalize it. Let them work peacefully.
