Bengaluru: Top Congress leadership to mediate with Krishna, seek his return

Daijiworld Media Network - Bengaluru (SP)

Bengaluru, Feb 2: Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee president and state home minister, Dr G Parameshwar, expressed the confidence that the party high command will negotiate with Krishna and successfully woo him back into the party fold. He was speaking to media persons who had met him at Vikasa Soudha here on Wednesday February 1.

"We earnestly wish that Krishna will stay with us. Efforts to convince him to come back into the Congress fold are on. I believe that the party high command will be successful in its endeavour to reverse his decision to leave the party. I am sure that he will not go away from us," he explained. Parameshwar admitted that it will be a loss for the party if Krishna fails to come back into its fold.

"We need Krishna's services. I spoke to him for two hours and requested him to reconsider his decision. We are continuing with out efforts," he stated.

S M Krishna

During his interaction with media persons at Koppal which he visited on Wednesday afternoon to take part in a private function, Parameshwar said that Krishna's departure is a loss for the party, but the party leadership will leave no stone unturned in an effort to bring the party to power. About the adverse comment made by veteran party leader, Jaffer Sharief, about the state administration, he said that it is his individual opinion.

Chief minister, Siddaramaiah, speaking to the media at Mysuru on Wednesday, said he is confident that the party high command, which is discussing the issues with S M Krishna, would be able to bring the leader back. "So far I have not spoken to Krishna. I plan to hold discussions with him soon. It is wrong to say that seniors are being sidelined in the party. We are getting the benefit of rich experience of veteran party leaders. Krishna and Jaffer Sharief had taken part in the coordination committee meeting of the party recently. We need both the experience and youth power in the party," he stated.

Energy minister, D K Shivakumar, told the reporters on Wednesday that Krishna himself has talked about the power and opportunities given to him by the Congress. "The talk of Krishna joining BJP is the brainchild of some people with wild imaginations. I am sure that he will not choose the wrong path. We are making efforts at various levels to retain Krishna in our party," he added.

SMK says that leaders like siddu and param must listen to him. why should thy listen to him? i think he wants his supporters to get tickets in the upcoming assembly elections or his son-in-law siddharth proprietor of Cafe coffee day wants a ticket for upcoming general elections. Krishna held various respectable posts being a High profile Tech CM who transformed urban karnataka especially bangalore, mangalore, hubli and Mysore but neglected the rural areas. and being a external affairs minister who made the passport procedure go digital and opening of passport seva kendras, the credit goes to him and governor of Maharashtra.
He was not a mass leader like Siddu or bangarappa. he was actually known as high tech gowda or american gowda because he was considered a most educated politician among vokkaliga caste.
Hope gentleman like him retires decently or becomes an adarsh margdarshak just like how Advani and MM joshi are right now in BJP.

There's no doubt at all, that S.M.Krishna was a towering personality and a major contributor to the progress of modern Karnataka, especially in obtaining the leading position in the I.T./B.T. field. But, as the saying goes, "All good things must come to an end".

It would have been more honourable for SMK to give up active politics and instead, take up the responsibility of strengthening the party by training budding young politicians with high moral values, as well as high qualifications and ability. It's still not too late for him to turn to mentoring the younger generation of leaders, as has been beautifully shown in the cricketing field by Rahul Dravid.

SM Krishna contributed but he thought only Bangalore is Karnataka, he never did any good things for other districts. He was not a mass leader like Siddaramaiah; he did everything for his self-progress. And he was the main reason for congress debacle in Karnataka and allowed BJP to gain power as outgoing CM.

Please ask these veteran (above the age of 60) leaders to retire from politics gracefully and pave way to the new generation leaders by supporting , sharing experience and guiding them. These leaders (especially maha gyani BJPoojary, Krishna, Jaffer Shareef, Oscar, CM Ibrahim, KARGE etc.) already enjoyed the power and benefits the Congress provided during its helm, these leaders became someone from no one because of Congress Party. Learn from Mr. Advani, even though the party sidelined him but never uttered a single word against BJP leadership and kept silent. SM Krishna is greedy and over ambitious politician to resign in this age. He still need power. I had respect for him but seeing his current political statement am ashamed of him. He is the one enjoyed more and more power and facilities in Congress (being CM, Foreign minister, Governor etc.) still he want power in this age oufffff shame on him.
