Kasargod: Murder of jeweller - second accused arrested

Kasargod, Feb 4: In connection with the murder of jewller identified as Muhammed Mansoor, a resident of Vidyanagara Chettunguli, the police have succeeded in arresting the second accused.

After killing Mansoor, his body had been dumped in an abandoned well. The person now arrested is Muhammed Ashraf alias Marimuthu alias Sridharan (40), a native of Atrani Agrahara, Kudiyiruppu, Pudukottai inTamil Nadu. He happens to be the main accused in the murder case.

The policemen said that he was arrested from Talapady on Kerala-Karnataka border. Mansoor was killed on January 25. Relating to this case, Abdul Salam from Padyana in Bantwal taluk, who allegedly worked in partnership with Ashraf, was arrested on January 31. Salam and Ashraf together had waylaid Mansoor and robbed Rs 2.6 lac found in his possession, before going underground.
