Panaji, Feb 7 : A-38-year-old yoga teacher Pratik Agarwal was today arrested by Pernem police for allegedly raping an American woman who had approached him for the massage.
The 32-year-old victim has complained to the police that the teacher who owns an institute in Korgao village of Pernem taluka raped her under the pretext of giving tantrik massage.
The girl has told Pernem police that the incident happened on February 2 when she had gone for a yoga massage to Agarwal who runs the School of Holistic Yoga and Ayurveda.
The complainant has also claimed that Agarwal has also raped her another friend from Canada who had gone for massage to him. Police are verifying her claims.
Police Inspector Rahul Parab said that the accused has been arrested and produced before the local court which has granted eight days police custody to him.
