New Delhi, Feb 8 (DHNS): Burglars broke into the house of child rights activist Kailash Satyarthi and made away with a replica of his Nobel prize.
The incident came to light at 9 am on Tuesday when one of his associates went to his flat in south-east Delhi and found the locks broken.
With fellow-Nobel laureates, Satyarthi is in the United States for an event. Besides the replica, jewellery belonging to his daughter has also been stolen, police said.
Satyarthi shared the Nobel Peace Prize with Malala Yousafzai from Pakistan. He founded the Bachpan Bachao Andolan in 1980, and is known across the world for securing the rights of children.
Police said a forensics team had collected fingerprints and footprints. No one was in the house when the incident took place. Investigators are looking at footage from cameras installed in the neighbourhood. They suspect the burglars knew people living in the house were away.
